2016-09-28

It was another big week for Trent. The Excalibur ran their record to 7-0, remained atop the Inside Lacrosse CUFLA Power Rankings and had the week's first star in Jeff Fernandes. Read Pat Gregoire's CUFLA roundup for more.

Trent has enjoyed success during its time in CUFLA, but this may be the best year the Excalibur have had since joining the league. The team is off to a perfect start to the season, including a win over defending champion McGill, and this week one of its players was named the Inside Lacrosse CUFLA First Star.

"Jeff Fernandes continued his impressive first season in CUFLA, netting 14 points in two victories with the red hot Trent Excalibur last week. The Detroit Mercy transfer had a huge eight-point performance (4G,4A)in a impressive 16-2 win over Bishop’s. The next day, Fernandes tallied a hat trick and three helpers for six points in TU’s 13-6 win over Ottawa. The Green Gaels Junior B product currently leads all CUFLA in scoring with 28 points and is tied for third in goals with 17."
