Battles ramping up in standings after Week 4 play

2016-10-04

Western is one of three teams fighting for first in the West while the battle is the East is for spots three through seven.

Battles are shaping up in both conferences of CUFLA through Week 4. In the West, the usual suspects are in a tight contest for first place. Brock (6-1), Western (5-1) and Guelph (5-1) are neck and neck for the top seed.

The East looks like it will see a showdown for first place between Trent (9-0) and McGill (6-1) on Sunday October 23 in Montreal when the teams meet for a rematch of the Excalibur's exciting 10-9 win over the Redmen back on September 17. No one else is threatening those two conference leaders, but the competition for third through seventh is tight.

Bishop's (3-4), Ottawa (3-4) and Queen's (3-5) are tied with six points each. Nipissing (2-6) sits two points back of those three but has finished its season series with Trent and McGill while all the others play at least one of the leaders before the schedule concludes. Carleton is 1-7 but will be lurking ready to pounce if a team stumbles.
