On to the playoffs: regular season wraps up with Week 7 play

The regular season is over following Week 7 CUFLA action and the final standings are all set. 

McGill and Trent met Sunday with first place on the line in CUFLA East, the Excalibur looking to sweep the Redmen for the season and knock their Montreal rivals from their customary perch atop the division. 

McGill was having none of it, though. The Redmen shut Trent out in the second half to take a 9-5 win that clinched first place for McGill's fifth year in a row. 

Bishop's swept a pair of games from Nipissing to clinch third place and Queen's dropped the conclusion of the rained out Sept 10 game against Ottawa on Sunday but won the regularly scheduled game to earn fourth place. 

Nipissing winds up fifth, Ottawa sixth and Carleton out of the playoffs in seventy. 

On the West side, Western University finished off their season with a hard-fought 11-9 win over Guelph that clinched first place for the Mustangs. The teams entered the fourth quarter tied 7-7. Ryan McCrory's two goals in the fourth gave him a hat trick for the game and helped the Mustangs pull away for the win. 

Brock finishes in second place after a pair of lopsided wins, 15-7 over McMaster and 21-3 over Laurier, in Week 7. Guelph is third, Laurentian fourth, Toronto fifth, Mac sixth and Laurier last.
