Redmen, Ravens and Gee-Gees Win Saturday CUFLA Tilts

McGill was obviously upset about losing to the Bishop's Gaiters on Friday. On Saturday, they took it out on the Trent Excalibur. 

The Redmen outscored the defending Baggataway Cup finalists in every quarter en route to a 14-7 win that could be crucial with the teams battling along with Bishop's for just two East Division spots in this year's championship tournament. The Queen's Gaels automatically receive the third East spot as the Baggataway Cup hosts.

In other Saturday action, the Carleton Ravens held off a Nipissing comeback attempt to beat the Lakers 10-8 while  Ottawa completed an astonishing comeback. The Gee-Gees scored the last seven goals to finish off a 9-2 fourth quarter that gave them a 12-11 win over the Queen's Gaels. 

Goose Bolton scored the first three goals for McGill in the first 10 minutes of the game and the Redmen never relinquished the lead in Montreal. Kieran McKay also added   a hat trick for the Redmen and Liam MacDonald had two goals and three assists. 

Garrett Eddy had three goals and two assists to lead the Exaclibur, who drop to 3-2 for the season with their second loss to McGill in seven days. The Redmen sit atop the division with 12 points from a 6-1 record while Bishop's has 8 points from a perfect 4-0 record so far. 

Four players had two goals each to lead a balanced Ravens attack in Ottawa. The Lakers got two goals and three assists from Scott Dominey and a hat trick from Tanner Poole. 

Fred Hartley scored five of his six goals in the decisive fourth quarter to help Ottawa get the win in Kingston. They pulled a win ahead of Queen's, Carleton and Nipissing at 3-2 to take sole possession of fourth place. Spencer Corkery helped the cause with four goals and he and Hartley each added an assist. Riley Venton led the Gaels with three goals and an assist.
