A summary of games from the weekend of Week 4 of the 2018 CUFLA season.Four teams had wins to be thankful for on a relatively quiet Thanksgiving weekend in CUFLA.
The Trent Excalibur got off to a slow start but finished strong, posting 5 or 6 goals in each of the last three quarters to down the Carleton Ravens 18-7 Friday. Cole McWilliams scored 4 goals while Jeff Fernandes, Adam Perroni and Cam Garlin each had hat tricks to lead the offensive onslaught. The teams were tied 2-2 after the first quarter before Trent pulled away.

Western shared quite a bit in common with Trent on Thanksgiving weekend. The Mustangs also moved to 5-0 on the season, in their case with a 16-4 win over the McMaster Marauders. Just like the Excalibur, Western started out slowly and was tied after the first quarter, 3-3 with McMaster. The Marauders even held a pair of leads, 1-0 and 3-2. From there, though, it was all Mustangs. Cody Ward was the offensive leader for Western with 5 goals and 3 assists.

The Laurier Golden Hawks moved to 3-3 on the season and into a tie with Toronto with an 11-8 win over Laurentian in Friday's third game. Andrew Kew and Andrew Borgatti had hat tricks for the Hawks. Matt Smith, Ty Mikulik and Mike Kussman each scored a pair of goals to lead the Voyageurs.

Laurentian did Laurier a favour in the standings when the Voyageurs turned around and downed Toronto 12-11 on Saturday, dropping the Varstiy Blues to 3-4 (Toronto had also lost 11-7 to Guelph on Thursday night). Kussman had a hat trick including what proved to be the winning goal with 3:27 to play. Michael Hayes also scored 3 goals for Laurentian and he add 2 assists. Darren Elliott led the Blues with 3 goals.
