2018-10-09

A summary of games from the weekend of Week 4 of the 2018 CUFLA season.

Four teams had wins to be thankful for on a relatively quiet Thanksgiving weekend in CUFLA.

The Trent Excalibur got off to a slow start but finished strong, posting 5 or 6 goals in each of the last three quarters to down the Carleton Ravens 18-7 Friday. Cole McWilliams scored 4 goals while Jeff Fernandes, Adam Perroni and Cam Garlin each had hat tricks to lead the offensive onslaught. The teams were tied 2-2 after the first quarter before Trent pulled away.

Western shared quite a bit in common with Trent on Thanksgiving weekend. The Mustangs also moved to 5-0 on the season, in their case with a 16-4 win over the McMaster Marauders. Just like the Excalibur, Western started out slowly and was tied after the first quarter, 3-3 with McMaster. The Marauders even held a pair of leads, 1-0 and 3-2. From there, though, it was all Mustangs. Cody Ward was the offensive leader for Western with 5 goals and 3 assists.
