Inside Lacrosse CUFLA 3 Stars, Week 8: Chaykowsky, Goodchild and Woodland

2018-10-31

Pat Gregoire's CUFLA 3 Stars for Week 8 from Inside Lacrosse

Numbers don't always tell the whole story. For instance, if you just look at Nick Chaykowsky's scoring stats you'll see that he finished fifth on Trent and 20th in CUFLA in points.
What you can't see from the box scores is how valuable Chaykowsky is all over the field in all kinds of game situations for the Exaclibur.

His all around game and the positive impact he has were front and centre as Chaykowsky helped Trent down McGill to finish first and earn the East's top seed in the Baggataway Cup playoffs. And that landed him at the top of Pat Gregoire's CUFLA 3 Stars on Inside Lacrosse this week.

You can read about Chaykowsky below and check out the full story at this link

First Star

Nick Chaykowsky - Trent University
I'm not sure if there is another CUFLA player who has a larger impact in so many aspects of the game than Trent University's Nick Chaykowsky. Whether it's scoring, playmaking, playing defense, loose ball battles on the faceoff wing or being a one-man clear, the midfielder is no doubt one of the most versatile players the league has seen in recent memory. The Bradford, ON native was his usual impressive self this past Sunday as he helped the Excalibur hand the McGill Redmen their first loss of the season and clinch first place in the East for the first time since 2009 with a 12-7 victory. Chaykowsky finished the afternoon with three points (2G,1A), which included this jaw dropping backhand beauty. The New England Black Wolves righty's numbers might not blow you away with a modest 17 goals, 13 assists and 30 points in 10 games, but his all around dominance makes him a front runner for this year's CUFLA Most Valuable Player Award.
