Low scores stand out again in CUFLA Week 4

After a 4-3 win by McGill over Queen's in CUFLA Week 3, it may have been reasonable to assume it would be while before we saw another game with that low score. 
Well, it turned out to be exactly five days till we saw the exact same score.
Friday night of Week 4, the Laurier Golden Hawks and McMaster Marauders scored just six goals in regulation time. Andy Borgatti collected the overtime winner as the Hawks took a 4-3 win. 
That was just the beginning of a golden weekend for Laurier. The Golden Hawks traveled from their Waterloo base to Sudbury for a Sunday doubleheader with Laurentian, the first game being the completion of their September 13 game that had been suspended because of weather.
Laurier held on in the former for a 10-8 win and took the second game 10-6 to produce a perfect 3-0 weekend. 

Queen's was engaged in another defensive battle in Week 4, and unfortunately for the Gaels they came out on the short side again, losing 5-4 to the Nipissing Lakers. 

McGill downed Ottawa in another game in which neither team reached double digits, downing the Gee-Gees 9-4.

The relatively low-scoring games are clearly in large part a result of CUFLA contest being reduced from 80 minutes to 60 minutes (15-minute quarters instead of 20), but the defences and goaltending are playing their roles as well.
