Western's prestigious Purple Blankets are presented annually to the student athletes who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, achieved superior distinction at the Provincial/National level of competition as representatives of Western.
Cody Ward has been the Western Men's Lacrosse captain and leader both on and off the field for the last three seasons. Within this time, the men's team has competed at five consecutive Baggataway Cup Championship Tournaments and has walked away with four straight wins (2016-2019). Cody is the third player in CUFLA history and the first Mustang to reach the 300-point mark. He is the all-time Mustangs leader for goals, assists, and points with 212 goals, 95 assists, and 307 points in a career of 72 games. In addition to being named the All Canadian West Scoring Champion, Cody's leadership and dedication has been recognized as integral to the team's success and development.
