Seven CUFLA student-athletes (and one CUFLA intern) were drafted by Major Series Lacrosse teams at this year's MSL draft.

It looked like CUFLA would have a strong presence in the 2021 Major Series Lacrosse draft, and the reality did not disappoint: seven players plus a former intern wound up being selected in the draft.

Those players are in addition to a pair who were protected by their Sr A affiliates before the draft, Darren Elliott and Mitch Ogilvie.

Matt Sykes was the first CUFLA player taken. The Guelph Gryphon was the third overall player—and first defender—taken, being tabbed by the Cobourg Kodiaks. Three Gryphons in total were drafted and they were three of the first four CUFLA names to be called in the draft.

The Trent Excalibur had a pair of defenders selected while Bishop's and Brock each saw one of their players taken. Former CUFLA media intern Cameron Dunkerley was also selected, going 27th overall to an Owen Sound team whose general manager Steve McCarthy expressed surprise that he was still available at that point.
