CUFLA opens the 2021 season on Saturday September 18.CUFLA teams will be back on the field starting Saturday, September 18.
The Bishop's Gaiters and Queen's Gaels face off in an East Division game at 2 pm on the 18th, marking the first CUFLA game to be played since Western downed Trent in the final of the 2019 Baggataway Cup to win their fourth straight championship.
Later on the 18th, the McMaster Marauders visit the Brock Badgers to open West Division play.
Everyone else except for Western gets underway the following day. Among the four games on Sunday are a pair of Central Division tilts, with the Nipissing Lakers visiting the Laurentian Voyageurs and the Trent Excalibur heading to Toronto to take on the Varsity Blues. The Mustangs begin their defence of the Baggataway Cup on Wednesday September 29 at McMaster.
CUFLA is divided this fall into three divisions rather than the usual two to help comply with Covid-19 return to play protocols. Teams will play a six-game season followed by a playoff weekend leading to the Baggataway Cup, which is planned for November 5-7 on Nipissing's campus in North Bay.
