CUFLA Week 2 results.

The Trent Excalibur asserted themselves as contenders for the Baggataway Cup in Week 2 of the 2021 CUFLA season, downing the Baggataway host Nipissing Lakers 19-10 at Trent's Justin Chiu Stadium.

The Lakers headed into the game with the league's leading scorer in Scott Dominey. After Week 2, Dominey still leads CUFLA, but he added just 2 assists to the 8 goals and 5 assists he had accumulated in a Week 1 win.

Keeping the Lakers offence in check was one element of Trent's success against Nipissing, but the Excalibur attack was potent, as well. After getting a long pole goal from Curtis Conley in transition off the opening faceoff, Trent added another pair of goals in the following three minutes.

Nipissing responded with a pair of goals, but the Excalibur really took over the game by scoring the next 6 goals, the last four all coming from the stick of Taite Cattoni. His total of 5 goals in the game vaulted him past Dominey into the CUFLA lead with 9 goals. Cam Milligan, meanwhile, had 7 assists in the game to give him a league-leading 10.

Toronto exploded on offence, led by a trio of huge performances. Darren Elliot scored 6 goals, Davis Bottomley and Aidan Guld 4 goals each as the Varsity Blues bounced back from a Week 1 loss.

West Division

McMaster 13, Laurier 3

The Marauders took a big win in the only West Division game of Week 2. After a scoreless first quarter, Laurier actually took the initial lead in the game when Cameron McCusker scored three minutes into the second 20 minutes. It took McMaster a while to get going, but once they did the Marauders scored 11 stright goals through the end of the third quarter, putting the game out of reach.

East Division

Bishop's 13, Carleton 7
Box score
The Gaiters became the second team in CUFLA to improve to 2-0 when they downed the Ravens in the lone Sunday game in Week 2. Bishop's had a balanced scoring attack, with five different players scoring multiple goals.

Queen's 14, Ottawa 6
Box score
The Gaels and Gee Gees both finished Week 2 at 1-1 after Queen's burst out of the gates with 5 first-quarter goals then outscored Ottawa 3-2 in each of the subsequent quarters.
