CUFLA UPDATE Thanksgiving Break

There are only four games scheduled this week to give guys a chance to get home for the Thanksgiving break but all four are big for the teams involved.

CUFLA   UPDATE

On Wednesday McGill travels to Carleton for a 8:30pm game under the lights. This gives the Ravens another kick at the can. The Redmen asserted their dominance last Sunday, with an 18-8 spanking of the upstarts. McGill managed to shut down the top Carleton scorers and spread the ball around to more shooters in their own offense.

Also on Wednesday McMaster hosts Western. Both teams upset top ranked Guelph last week and Mac took the first game over Western in a sudden death, triple overtime victory. This game could be decided by the blink of a goalie.

Guelph will be stinging from their two defeats last week when they come in to Laurier on Friday night. Laurier’s early promise was sidetracked by two defeats last weekend and they might be just what the Griffins need to sort themselves out.

They’ll need to be sorted out for Saturday’s return match at Guelph against Western. Western squeezed by the Griffins 6-5 in OT on Sunday and they’ll be coming off a tough night at Mac. There are no breaks for the top four teams in the West. With so many games decided by one goal, every possession and every play is critical.

That’s got to be more fun than a York football game.
