Ottawa Gee-Gees Hold Isaac Lavallee Memorial Game

2021-10-24

Ottawa hosts Isaac Lavallee Memorial Game.

The Ottawa Gee-Gees held the Isaac Lavallee Memorial Game Saturday night to honour a former player who died earlier this year. The Gee-Gees won the game, edging the Carleton Ravens 9-8 in the final game of the 2021 season for both teams.

Below is Ottawa's writeup about the memorial game.

"The Isaac Lavallee Memorial Game is in honour of a great leader, captain, coach, and friend. Isaac Lavallee was a member of the Gee-Gees lacrosse team from 2015-2020 and made a lasting impact on those who had the opportunity to know him.

In November of 2019, Isaac was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, which he bravely fought until his passing on March 24, 2021. He was 24 years old and had just graduated with a degree in civil engineering. Isaac was a key part of an important moment in Gee-Gees lacrosse history; he was in net during the team’s victory over McGill to qualify for the Baggataway Cup for the first time. More importantly, he was a mentor to many and a respected voice among his fellow student-athletes.

In collaboration with Isaac’s family, donations in Isaac’s memory including those received through ticketing today will support the student-athlete experience on the Men’s Lacrosse team. Please visit alumni.uOttawa.ca/en/Isaac-Lavallee to contribute."
