CUFLA Introduces Shot Clock

2022-09-12

Trent plays host to Nipissing in the first CUFLA game with a shot clock.

CUFLA has added shot clocks for the 2022 season.

CUFLA is back, and we're playing faster.

This fall marks the first full regular season in thee years. Last fall, CUFLA was able to return to play but was missing McGill and was divided into three divisions rather than the usual two because of lingering Covid-19 issues.

But in 2022 we're back with seven teams in each of our East and West Divisions, and there's one other big change: games will be played with a shot clock. CUFLA has never played with a shot clock before. The change was implemented to produce a faster pace of play.

Teams now have 20 seconds to clear the ball over centre when they gain possession in their end of the field and 80 seconds in total to get a shot on net.
