The West Prevails

McMaster, lead by recently named 2011 Team Canada Box Lacrosse Head Coach Eddie Comeau, opened scoring at 17:52 of the first quarter as Michael Dawson fired a shot past Saskatchewan’s lacrosse player of the year and Bishop’s stalwart net minder Keegan Durovick. The teams traded goals for the most of the game, including 6 goals and 1 assist from CUFLA’s 2010 Scoring Champion Mike Dube from Bishop’s. Team Captain and MFE player of the game Josh Crone from Bishop’s had 6 points on the day, but it wasn’t enough as 2009 playoff Scoring Champion Kevin MacRory had 5 points, and McMaster’s MFE game MVP and 2009 CUFLA Rookie of the Year Carter Williams potted 4 in McMaster’s 11 – 9 victory.

Carleton’s MFE game MVP Curtis Singleton opened scoring at 14:30 with a bounce shot bullet past Brock’s Ian Duffy, where Carleton lead 3 – 1 after the first quarter. Brock rallied with 4 goals in the second quarter, which saw the game tied 4 – 4 at halftime. Carleton’s potent offense, lead by 2009 CUFLA Scoring Champion and Jr. A Money Baller Corey Fowler who had 4 points in the contest, wasn’t enough for Brock’s balanced scoring that saw 10 different names on the score sheet, including Brock’s LSM and MFE game MVP Clark Robinson who had a goal and created many turnovers with his lethal stick. 

Brock (3 West) will play McMaster (4 West) in the Bank of America Baggataway Cup championship game Sunday, November 7^th, 3:00PM at St. Michael’s College School.
