The Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association is pleased to announce the 2024 All Canadian teams for the Eastern and Western Conferences. Players are selected by a vote of the teams within their conference, based on performance in the regular season.
Attack:
What a season for rookie attack men in CUFLA's Eastern Conference. Julien Belair entered his hometown university and led a resurgent Ottawa club with 30 points as the Gee-Gees finished third in goals scored in the East.
Zach Bye was a sensation in his rookie season at McGill. The Connecticut native stepped into the shoes of graduated Redbirds scoring leader Dylan James and proceeded to lead all of CUFLA with 29 goals, the most a CUFLA player has scored since 2019.
Dylan James is an All Canadian for the second straight year after leading his team in scoring again, although this season was with a different team. James entered graduate school at Trent and put up a career high 20 goals and led the Excalibur with 36 points.
Midfield:
Noah Millsap is a strong two-way midfielder who was a key component of the Gaels' defensive corps and chipped in 9 goals. The Melancthon, Ontario native is a first-time All Canadian in his fourth season at Queen's.
Adam Hawrelak continues to evolve as a player. He grew from a depth role as a 2022 rookie into Trent's second-leading goal scorer last season. In 2024 Hawrelak embraced more a facilitating role, finishing second on the Excalibur in assists. This is Hawrelak's second straight season being named an All Canadian.
John Miraglia has been a steady contributor to the Redbirds' offence, finishing among McGill's top three in scoring for the third straight season. The Memphis, Tennessee native is a first-time All Canadian.
Defence:
New York City native Logan Glick continues to be a steady defensive presence for the Redbirds, making life difficult for opposing forwards en route to earning his second straight All Canadian berth.
Curtis Conley is one of the best defenders to ever suit up in CUFLA. He has been named the league's top overall defender several times and this year is an All Canadian for the fifth straight season.
Ty Wheatley is a diligent and athletic defender earning his first All Canadian award.
Faceoff:
Sam MacDonald has been one of the top faceoff specialists in CUFLA for three seasons. He was also an Eastern Conference All Canadian in 2022.
LSM:
Preston Norris makes his presence known with his defensive prowess, but also captures some attention in transition; the first-time All Canadian scored 2 goals in 2022 and one-upped himself with 3 this season.
SSDM:
Ben Buzby earned his first All Canadian honour this year in his third season with McGill.
Goalie:
Thomas Kiazyk has been a big part of Carleton's turnaround. In the four years before he arrived, the Ravens had won a total of four games. They won five in his rookie season of 2022 then finished atop the East last year. This is Kiazyk's second straight season being named an All Canadian.
